Shooting a fashion photoshoot is a team effort where the synergy between talents is just as important as pure technique. Depending on the scope of the project, the team may vary, but here are the essential roles for a professional production:
1. The creative and technical team
These are the visual pillars of the shoot
- The photographer: I am the artistic and technical conductor. I manage the lighting, the framing, and direct the model. I am responsible for the final aesthetic and the artistic direction.
- The photographer's assistant: Indispensable on medium and large productions. He sets up the lighting (flashes, reflectors), manages the cameras and lenses.
- The digital assistant: It manages the Mac connected to the device, checks the quality of the images produced and performs preliminary color adjustments and framing.
2. Styling and beauty
This group transforms the theoretical concept into a visual reality on the mannequin.

- The photo stylist: He/she is the one who selects the looks, creates the silhouettes and manages the relationships with the brands (the "shopping"). On the photo set, he/she ensures that the clothes look perfect.
- The makeup artist: He/she adapts the makeup in accordance with the artistic direction of the shoot and performs constant touch-ups between shots.
- The hairdresser: He/she makes sure the hairstyle stays in place.
3. The model
- Beyond their physical appearance, the model's ability to pose, understand lighting, and embody the artistic direction's intention is crucial.
4. Management and Production
To ensure the entire team works effectively, it is necessary to organize the photo shoot.
- The Art Director (AD): She is the guardian of the brand image. She designed the mood board and ensures that I and the team adhere to the required visual style.
- The Producer/Director: He/she is in charge of logistics: studio rental, catering (meals), team transport and accommodation and adherence to the schedule.
On small or medium-sized productions, it is not uncommon for a person to play two roles.
